Im addicted to this game. Its challenging, but not too hard. It takes a LOT of juice to run this program. It uses up my battery way too fast, and my phone gets hot while playing. Other than making sure I dont play when I know Im not going to be able recharge for a while, this is one of my favorite games.

The logic in creating a game such as this but not accounting for times when there are absolutely no vowels to create any word (LOSE) or, nothing but vowels (LOSE), and finally, ... not having a dictionary that picks of actual timely words. I still am addicted to the game (hence the three stars) but would have rather seen these conditions addressed. Maybe things will improve in the next update ...???

but I find the game to be a little slow and to not have short simple words. It is a good time passer!

I like it, a lot. The flaming tiles is such a cool change. Instead of a clock or timer, you are racing against heat. GREAT JOB GUYS!!! - I would love to see some different themes for a future update, as well as some pretty music (plau NUMBA for an example) Great game.

This game is extraordinarily difficult, unreasonably so, for a very simple reason: there are almost NO VOWELS. Out of the entire screen, you sometimes only have 4-5 vowels. Its ridiculous!

Easy to start, but gets difficult extremely fast. Would be nice if some of the challenges were optional (heat up on shuffle)

This game was much more fun in summer (08) before tv last update which really screwed up the letter selection. I mean why fill the board with W U V K? return to original before update please!

Great app!! Only I wish there were worldwide scores.

The quality of this app suffers in comparison to so many other iPhone apps. The gameplay is okay--a poor cousin of the online game Bookworm. Bookworm offers better gameplay because it uses a better method for bringing new letters into the game. Bookworm also offers better visual feedback of your progress in the game. Fire Words just seems to end without warning if youre not keeping track in your head about when your tiles will expire. Id like to see the game reworked so gameplay can go on longer.

I know you can start where left off, but one game can go for over an hour easily. Not that hard to score 30,000 and up.

What needs to be done to get to level 2? It stays on level 1 no matter how many words I make.

The game play is slower due to the pause Ana animation after creating a word. Sure it only last around 2-3 seconds but it still disrupts gameplay. Moving on to the next level (now called Acts) raises points to shuffle... ...just dont update. Keep the older version if you can.

This was a great game until this update. Now it’s slowwww due to unneeded animations and pop-up ads. This is a bad thing.

This used to be my favorite game! But the latest update made it positively unplayable!! The letters dont touch so its hard to spot words. The animations and points pop up in between words and it makes game play so much slower. The new design makes it harder to tell which letters are hotter. There are ads and company logos everywhere. Im very, very disappointed. Im all for updates and even style changes, but not like this. Please bring back the old game. This version was not thought out well. I cant even play it.

I too hate the update. I could get used to the new interface, the ads, and the unnecessary showing of the spelled word. What I cant get used to and that makes me want to dump the game is the fact that you can no longer tell when letters are about to burn up. In the old version, the tiles counted down when they began to get too hot and you knew when you were about to lose. Now Im always surprised because I cant tell that a letter is about to become "too hot." If anyone knows this, please apprise me because I cant figure it out. I loved the old version and wish they would reinstate it. The new one is horrible.

Fire Words was the first game I downloaded on my original iPhone and Ive loved it ever since. My top score is 148,000! Ive often hoped for an update to this game but it hasnt happened since the original. I was excited to hear about the update; hoping for new words, a bigger dictionary and a cool look. However this update has completely destroyed the game and made it unplayable. Just because you can animate something doesnt mean you should. The letter tiles are now animated so they shimmer while trying to see what words to make. This is a game of concentration and pattern recognition. The animation makes it very difficult to recognize patterns and create long words. The second deal killer is the way the tiles countdown from being on fire. they used to go from yellow to orange to red, then three, two, one. Now they have an animation of fire behind them that is very unclear in terms of when its about to actually catch on fire and end the game. The person redesigning the game should have been required to play the game, at least as much as Ive played the game. Im fine with ads. I want you to make money; charge for the game, charge for extra levels, charge for new dictionaries... thats all fine but just go back to a design that actually fits gameplay and it allows us to actually play the game. It it is completely unplayable now.
